

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., at Mount Bethel Church in Summerfield, NC.
Born in Summerfield, NC, on May 2, 1931, to the late Cecil Raymond Wall and Caroline “Ollie” Barker Wall, Lana was the first female executive at the Miami Herald. She earned her MBA from the University of Miami and went on to receive her PHD in religious studies. The Miami Herald is part of a large chain of newspapers in every major city in the United States. While working there, she wrote a training manual and was then sent to all the other affiliated newspapers to teach them how to implement and use it. She traveled the world and was able to visit 31 different countries, including, Rome, Paris, Berlin, every part of Europe, the Middle East and Israel.
Lana was a brilliant and beautiful lady whose eyes crinkled and sparkled when she flashed her captivating smile. She was the President of the Toastmasters Association for the state of Florida. Lana raised money for various charities and worthwhile charitable organizations like the American Heart Association, United Way and several Blood Drives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Al and her daughter, Karen.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Dr. Ryan Moore; her granddaughters, Jennifer Moore Young and Kimberly Vierra Khanna; her grandson, Parker Moore; along with her great-grandchildren; and other extended family and loved ones.
