Mr. Larry Wilburn Donathan Sr.

Mr. Larry Wilburn Donathan, Sr., 82, a resident of Randleman, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday October 9, 2026. He was born in Greensboro on October 22, 1943, the son of Wilburn Luther and Ruby Sally Pearman Donathan.

Larry was a graduate of what was at that time Central High School. He was a self-employed craftsman and mechanic who specialized in heavy equipment and took joy in his ability to bring new life to old equipment.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Larry Wilburn Donathan, Jr.; his brother, Roger Donathan and a sister, Brenda D. Becker.

Larry was married to Shelda Putnam Donathan who survives of the home. Also surviving are his two daughters, Michelle Donathan and husband James Powell of Burlington, Teresa D. Vickrey and husband Blake of Asheboro; one son, Rodney Donathan of Greensboro; one sister Becky Glidewell of Julian; six grandchildren, Sid Vickrey, Jake Vickrey and wife Amanda, Dylan Donathan, Brittany Donathan Crowe and husband Dodge, Logan Donathan and wife Lindsey, Sadie Powell and two great grandchildren, Riley Vickrey and Bailey Vickrey.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday October 13, 2026, at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel officiated by the Reverend Doug Huff. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until service time.
