Laura Inez Smith

Inez was born in Rockingham County, NC on February 12, 1920. She worked with Lorillard Tobacco for over 30 years until her retirement. Inez was a founding member of Sure Foundation Baptist Church. She loved to work in her yard, sewing and cooking. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.

Inez is survived by her children; Vera Edmondson of Waynesville, NC, Orion L. Smith of Randleman, NC, Ann Hopkins and husband Clarence of Greensboro, NC, Rev. Raymond Smith and wife Darlene of Pleasant Garden, NC and Michael P. Smith and wife Karen of Greensboro, NC. Ten grandchildren and one sister, Mildred May of Greensboro, NC also survive.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Tuesday, 2:00 p.m. at Sure Foundation Baptist Church at the intersection of Hwy 62 and Hwy 220 South near Lever Cross. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday evening at the church from 6 to 8 pm.
