Mrs. Laura Lou Slaydon Wilson, 75, a former resident of Greensboro died Friday at her home in Lexington. Laura was born in Guilford Co., a daughter of Ellis and Minnie Fender Slaydon. Laura was married to James Marvin Wilson who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Garcia; her parents; two sisters, Mary Jane Hamby, Totsie Wilson and two brothers, Boyd and Clinton Slaydon.
Surviving are one daughter, Diane Ortiz and husband Henry of Portland, OR; three sons, James David Wilson of Lexington, Dennis Wayne Wilson and wife Patty of Reeds, Danny Ray Wilson of Lexington; two sisters, Linda Pegram and husband Roy of Kernersville, Barbara Waller of Greensboro, one brother, Arthur Slaydon and wife Judy of Greensboro; 12 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and three great- great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will visit with friends after the service. The family is being served by Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 High Point Rd., Greensboro, NC 27407.
