Laurie Ann North Katz passed away on June 8, 2022 after a valiant battle with dementia. She was born in Niskayuna, New York and lived in Cincinnati OH, Broomall PA, Chapel Hill and for nearly 40 years in Greensboro, NC. Laurie graduated from Presbyterian Nursing School, and then earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Joseph’s in Maine. Laure was a devoted mother to Brian Paul Katz and Amy Justus Katz. She found incredible joy as the grandmother of Victoria Hope Kinsella and Oliver Prescott Kinsella.
Laurie lived a wonderful life traveling across the USA and Europe, enjoying Wimbledon, the US Open and Roland Garros in person. She had many dear friends from bridge, tennis and swing dancing. Laurie was predeceased by her loving parents, Donald and Gail North. Laurie is also survived by her sisters, Debra DiCicco (Anthony) and Jacqui North (Martin McNeil), as well as many nieces and nephews.
Services were private. Donations in her memory can be made to Piedmont Swing Dance Society, Inc., or to the Jewish Foundation of Greensboro at the Greensboro Jewish Federation to be added to the Laurie A. N. Katz Philanthropic Fund.
