There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Boulevard, Greensboro, NC 27407.
LaWanda was born on January 30, 1954, in Rockingham County, North Carolina to the late Loften and Marylene Smith Joyce.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Austin Dale German, and her sisters, Kathy Hockaday and Mary Ellen Scesney.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, sons, Norman German, Joseph German (Sophie), and David German; four grandchildren; and brother, Daniel “Dan” Joyce (Tammy).
