

A funeral service will be held Thursday, 1:00 p.m., at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Chapel by Rev. Tim Wolfe. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Lee was born May 28, 1912 in China, the daughter of the Que Sing and the Gneuk Laul. Lee and her late husband of 63 years, Der Wing Hanson, owned and operated White Star Laundry for 40 years in Greensboro at several locations, finally at the Greensboro Grasshopper ball field location on Eugene St. As well as the business, Lee dedicated her life to her family. She ensured that all her children went to church and thanks to a close family friend, James B. Fleet, co-founder of Fleet-Plummer Hardware, were provided transportation until the first family member got their driver’s license.
Surviving are her children, Marjorie Ann Hanson of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, William Edward Hanson and wife Sooyong of Winston-Salem, John Robert Hanson, Lonnie Der Hanson and Gordon Der Hanson, all of Greensboro; grandchildren, John Robert Hanson, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV and Jennifer “Jenny” Lee Hanson of Charlotte.
Friends will be received Thursday, 11:30-1:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home, where refreshments will be provided.
