Letha was born in Harnett County, NC, the daughter of William H. and Lela Mae Matthews Caddell. She retired from Guilford County Schools in food service, and worked previously as Banquet Manager for Howard Johnsons.
Letha was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emmett Elwood Edwards and her daughter, Teresa Edwards. She is survived by her daughter, Helen Jo-Ann Atkinson (Mickey) and son, Danny Elwood Edwards (Kristi). Four grandchildren also survive; Jessica Atkinson Giles (Michael), Jo Atkinson Smithey (Chris), Evan Edwards and Ethan Edwards and one great granddaughter, Laila Belle Giles.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, 2:00 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel with Rev. J.R. Gossett officiating. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
