Levi Darryl Jones Sr.

Mr. Levi Darryl Jones, Sr. was born May 12, 1962 to the union of the late Levi and Evelyn B. Jones in Greensboro, NC. Levi was affectionally known to many as “Darryl”. He was a graduate of Ben L. Smith High School where he was a member of the trumpet section in the school band.

Levi loved listening to music of all genres. He also loved cooking, singing and entertaining. Although Levi experienced many trials and tribulations due to his declining health, he remained steadfast in his faith in God. He indicated from time to time that he never asked God, “Why me?” Levi accepted God’s “Divine Will” for his life and lived his life fully and purposely.

Levi leaves to mourn for a season his loving son, Levi Darryl Jones, Jr. (Alicia) and grandson Nike A’Kai Lowery-Jones; sister, Min. Charlene L. Cummings (Vermont); brother, Mr. Charles S. Jones, Sr. (Joan); niece, Mrs. Yvonne L. Hall (Anthony); nephews, Charles S. Jones, Jr., Dominic Jones (Kishon), Joshua Jones (Rachel); special family friend, Janet Williamson, and a host other relatives and friends.

Levi was preceded in his Homegoing by father, Levi Jones (1977); mother, Evelyn B. Jones (2012); sister, Jeaneen F. Jones (1991); aunt, Vernell Jones Washington (2009); nephew, Jimmy L. Clanton, Jr. (2007).
