Lillie B. Tudy, 87, went home to be with the Lord on May 15, 2020 in Yanceyville, North Carolina. She passed of natural causes peacefully in her sleep. Lillie was born on October 24, 1932 in Holly Hill, South Carolina to parents Rutledge and Rebecca Washington. Her family would later relocate to Eutawville, South Carolina, where she acquired her high school diploma. She subsequently moved to New York and met Leonard Tudy, Sr., who she would marry in May of 1972. Lillie B. lived as a devoted wife and mother to both her children and foster children. Lillie B. lived out her final years joyfully in Greensboro, North Carolina alongside her son, Lewis, many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a bright spirit, who enjoyed all that life had to offer. She enjoyed singing, cooking, traveling, and family gatherings. She was a loving grandmother and a true entertainer at heart, but above all, she loved the Lord. Her family will remember her as a phenomenal cook and life of the party, who inspired generations with her big heart. Lillie B. joins in Heaven: Her husband, Leonard Tudy, Sr.; three sons, Paul Washington, Johnny Washington and Leonard Douglas Tudy, Jr.; and two grandchildren, Sequoia and Jeron Washington. She is survived by: Her son, Lewis Washington and daughter-in-law, Cathey Washington of Greensboro, North Carolina, son, Alvin Washington of Pennsylvania, daughter, Krystal Tudy of New York, daughter-in-law, Ruby Washington, her sister, Mary Hudson of New York, and sister, Cora Belle of South Carolina. Lillie is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 8great-grandchildren, and 3 great great-grandchildren. A memorial service is to be held on Sunday, May 17th, 2020 at 2pm at the Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home in Greensboro, North Carolina.
