Linda Gail Anderson passed on September 24, 2026, at the age of 85. She was born and raised in Southwest Greensboro, NC on the family farm. She attended Sumner School, where she was the first female school bus driver in North Carolina.
Linda loved music, she loved life and she loved learning new crafting projects. She worked for a bank and then went to work with Wrangler-Blue Bell for about 20 years, where she acquired her accounting degree. Working with numbers was “not her thing”, so she got her nursing degree and was an RN for 30 years.
In 1972, she married Jim Anderson, and they built a home on Coltrane Mill Road on the family land. They both loved to travel and took many trips abroad to Canada and all over the US, Alaska being a favorite. Jim and Linda bought a house in Florida and spent the winters there until she retired. She lived at home until she moved into Brookdale Senior Living, where she resided till her death.
Linda was outgoing, spontaneous, and a little stubborn. She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, mother and friend.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, Rev. Charles Franklin Landreth; mother, Wilmath Alley McCandless; brother, Buck Landreth; sisters, Rachel Shelton, Betty Joe London and Linda’s husband, Jimmy Glen Anderson. She is survived by her beloved son, Donald O. Miller; brother, Ronnie Angle and several nieces and nephews, Todd, Renee, Freddie, Michelle, Karl and Cindy and friend, Wendy Cotter.
A memorial will be planned at a later date. In lieu of any flowers, make donations to the American Red Cross, PO Box 37839, Boone, IA 50037-0839, redcross.org
