Linda Jessup Allred, 78, of Liberty, passed away peacefully at home on January 22, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Everett “Jack" and Bertha Cox Jessup of Greensboro, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her sister Carolyn Williams and brother Wayne Jessup.
Linda was the devoted wife of Gary Allred for 54 years, and together they built a lifetime of cherished memories filled with love, laughter, and joy. She is survived by her two daughters, Patricia Allred-Gaydon and husband Douglas; and Jessica Shoe and husband David; along with six grandsons: Bradley Gaydon, Johnathan Allred, Jackson Gaydon, Britain Gaydon, Noah Shoe, and Adam Shoe. She is also survived by her sisters, Jackie Morris and Jerri Lubke.
A proud graduate of Page High School, Linda began her career in cosmetology graduating from Leon’s Beauty School and working as a beautician at Belk’s, JC Penny’s and Lee’s Beauty Salon. She later pursued her passion for cooking by studying culinary arts from Guilford Technical Community College. Linda spent over 20 years serving the community through her work with Guilford County Schools, where she worked in child nutrition and drove a school bus, always welcoming students with a smile and kindness.
Linda’s love for gardening and baking were among her many talents. She grew beautiful flowers and baked delicious cakes, sharing her creations with others. For many years, she was a vendor at the Guilford Farmers Market, selling vegetables, flowers, and cakes.
Linda’s nurturing spirit, deep love for her family, and devotion to her community will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Tuesday, January 28th at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home, North Elm Chapel, 515 North Elm Street, Greensboro, NC 27401. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 29th at Alamance Memorial Park, 4039 S Church Street, Burlington, NC 27215.
