

Linda was a graduate of Eastwood High School, St Joseph College of Nursing, (RN), Syracuse University (BSN) and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (MSN). For the past 30 years she committed herself to patient care, education and mentoring at Pennybyrn at Maryfield; a continuing care retirement community. Maryfield was a second family to her and all were touched by her kind spirit. As an Instructor and mentor of nurses, she had deep personal connections with her students and shared in the joys of their success. She selflessly dedicated her entire life to the compassionate care of others.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Artie.
Linda is survived by her husband of 56 years, David; daughter, Nancy (Gary) of Raleigh; sons, Bob (Chris) of Maryland, Jon (Gretchen) of Wilmington, grandchildren; Amber, Anna, Tim, Katie and Ryan. She was excited about her newest grandchild to be born in September. She is also survived by her sister; Nancy (Tom) of Greensboro, 4 nephews, 3 nieces, 6 great nephews, 3 great nieces and 1 great great nephew.
A private family burial service was held at Guilford Memorial Park in Greensboro, NC where she was laid to rest near her parents. A Service to Celebrate the Life of Linda will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 28th in the Chapel at Pennybyrn at Maryfield conducted by the Reverend Judy Copeland.
In Linda’s memory, the family asks that donations be made to Pennybyrn at Maryfield, St Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or the charity of your choice.
