Linton Stevens Chastain, 72, died on February 3, 2018 at Morning view Assisted Living at Irving Park after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Linton was a resident of Goose Creek, SC. He graduated from Armstrong State University, Savannah, GA in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology.
He served in the in the US Air Force as an Aircraft Repair man from 1964 to 1968. He also served in the US Air Force Reserve, 155th Tactical Control Squadron as a Ground Radar Communications Technician while stationed in Georgia from 1968 to 1973. He also served in the South Carolina State Guard, 3rd Brigade, and Communications Division as a Master Sergeant from 2008 to 2012. He worked as a Constable with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division from October, 2008 to December, 2011.
Linton was a member of Immaculate Catholic Church in Goose Creek, SC. He served as a Recorder for the Knights of Columbus, Immaculate Conception Council 11991 in Goose Creek in 2013. He was an avid motorcyclist and enjoyed traveling the east coast in his cruiser. Linton also found time to enjoy photography and bird watching.
Linton was preceded in death by his loving wife, Anne Marie Chastain. He is survived by his daughters; Beth Irene Chastain and Britt Marie Chastain.
A Memorial Service will held on Saturday, 2:00 pm at Hanes LIneberry Vanstory Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
