Lois was born on Nov. 6, 1930 in Sampson County, NC, the daughter of Joncie Lea Beatty and James R. Rich. She worked with Guilford County Schools as a Cafeteria Manager until her retirement. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, William M. “Bill” Burgess Jr. Those left to cherish her memory are her children: William Maurice “Mo” Burgess III and wife Debra of Channel Island, CA, Robert Keith Burgess and wife Joanne of Stokesdale, NC, Donald Lee Burgess of Baden Lake, NC; brothers; Kenneth Rich and wife Dot of Greensboro, NC, Jim Rich and wife Diane of Charlotte, NC, Tommy Grimes and wife Beverly of Greensboro, NC, Bobby Grimes and wife Virginia of Greensboro, NC and Ann Kitchen and husband Steve of Baden Lake, NC; grandchildren; Lynn, Teresa, Gina, Donnie, Chris , Will and Bobby and four great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
