Lou K. Boyles

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Monday, July 21, 2104 at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 High Point Rd., Greensboro, NC 27407 with funeral services to follow in the Chapel at Hanes-Lineberry at 3:00 p.m. conducted by the Reverend Randy Orwig. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park.

Mrs. Boyles was a Leap Year Baby born February 29, 1924 in Greensboro to the late Annie Moore Kimrey and Bascom H. “Jack” Kimrey.

Mrs. Boyles was a member of Congregational United Church of Christ and an Associate Member of Elon Community Church.

Mrs. Boyles was one of the first active licensed women in real estate in North Carolina, earning her license in 1963. She was a founding member of the Habitat Realtors in 1971 and then formed her own company, Lou Boyles and Associates, in 1974. Her company motto was “Let us open doors for you”. Mrs. Boyles served as President of the Greater Greensboro Board of REALTORS in 1980 and was a member of the North Carolina State REALTORS Association Board of Directors for several years. She was Realtor of the Year in 1986 and received the NC REALTOR Service Award in 1987. She was made an Honorary Lifetime Member of the Greensboro Regional REALTORS Association in 2003. Mrs. Boyles served on numerous boards within the real estate world and also in the community. She completed her real estate career as the Sales Manager of Re/MAX of Greensboro and retired in 1995 after 32 years in real estate activities.

Mrs. Boyles was married in June 1943 to Jim L. Boyles. They moved from Wedgedale Drive in Greensboro to Twin Lakes Retirement Center in Burlington in 1992.

Mrs. Boyles is survived by her husband, Jim; a daughter, Lisa Huffines of Carthage and a granddaughter, Melanie a Wake Forest graduate living in Southern Pines.
