Louise Chappell Taylor Bruno passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Wellspring Retirement Community in Greensboro, North Carolina. Louise was preceded in death by her beloved first husband, Frank (Foti) Taylor and her cherished son, Mark Alan Taylor. After Frank’s death, Louise was fortunate to find love again and married Dr. Anthony Bruno, a Captain in the U.S. Public Health Service. Together they lived a wonderful life in Bethesda, Maryland before retiring to Greensboro.
Louise is survived by her three stepchildren, Catherine Raven (Emigrant, Montana), Marc Bruno (San Francisco, California) and Lisa Bruno Barker (Santa Barbara, California) as well as her (step) treasured grandson, Kai Barker (Santa Barbara, California).
Throughout her life, Louise called many places home including Maryland, Washington, D.C., Kentucky, Florida and North Carolina. She had a deep appreciation for the arts and proudly considered herself an avid art collector. Music also held a special place in her heart, and she especially enjoyed listening to her dear friends renowned pianists Jayne Ericourt and Daniel Ericourt.
Louise was a magnificent cook whose meals brought joy to family and friends. She had a keen eye for fashion and loved beautiful clothing and a timeless style. Those who knew her often admired her radiant complexion and couldn’t help but ask for the secret to her beautiful skin. Louise will be remembered for her elegance, warmth, love of beauty, and the lives she touched throughout her life.
Many thanks are extended to the Wellspring Retirement Community that cared for Louise in the final years of her life and especially to her personal caregiver, Leah Merritt.
