Loyce Wray Ellis

Mrs. Ellis’ graveside service will be held at Lebanon Baptist Church on Hicone Road, Friday, June 8 at 11:00 a.m. The service will be officiated by Reverend Paul Luttrell of Gospel Baptist Church. The family will receive visitors after the service at Mrs. Ellis’ home.

Loyce was the daughter of the late Junie C. and Blanche Phillips of Bear Creek, N.C. and was also preceded in death by husbands W. Lawrence Wray (decd. 1973) and June Roy Ellis (decd. 1995), four siblings, and her son, Stephen L. Wray.

She was a member of Gospel Baptist Church for many decades, as well as a member of the New Garden Moose Lodge. After dedicated years of service, Loyce retired from Cone Mills. She loved to garden, fish, go shrimping in Southport, N.C. and host Brunswick stew gatherings and any family celebration.

Mrs. Ellis is survived by her son, Rick Wray (Cindi), daughter, Cathy Wolfer (Danny); grandchildren Michele Webb (Darren), Jenny Dalenko (Jerry), Robbie Henderson, Zack Henderson; and three great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Moses Cone Hospital for their attentive and tender care.

Memorial contributions can be made to Gospel Baptist Church, 5945 N. Church Street, Greensboro.
