Lucy Elizabeth Coe

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, April 16, 2021 at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel. 6000 West Gate City Blvd., in Greensboro. Burial will follow in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery, located directly behind the funeral home.

Born March 27, 1930 in Alamance County to the late Stafford and Virgie Mills. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. Her love for her family was only surpassed by the love she had for her Lord and Savior. Lucy enjoyed flower gardening, sewing and cooking, using recipes passed down from her mother. She loved spending time with her husband of 71 years, including time spent at their retreat in the Virginia mountains. Her family was very special to her.

For many years Lucy served in many different capacities at Calvary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem such as singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and other activities.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Millie Simmons, Estelle Anderson and Albert Mills.

Those left to cherish her memory, include her husband Jack Coe; daughter, Pamela McKeithen (John); son, Steve Coe (Donna); daughter, Janet Terry; sister, Rebecca Eanes; brother, Jesse Mills (Barbara Sue); 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.
