

A celebration of her life will be held at First Presbyterian Church Chapel in Greensboro on Friday November 13 at 2 p.m. with Pastor David Partington officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in The Redhead Hall Room located behind the chapel at the church.
Lucy was born in Mt. Mourne, N.C. on September 14, 1924 to the late Dr. Reid R. Morrison and Isabelle Douglas Morrison. She attended college and married her husband, Edwin Barry James on January 20, 1951. In 1966 they moved to Chappaqua, N.Y. where they lived until 1988 when they returned to Greensboro. Lucy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend who never met a stranger. Not only was she a remarkable caregiver to her family but reached out to anyone in need. She loved volunteering and for years worked with Lighthouse for the Blind and Northern Westchester Hospital in Mt. Kisco, N.Y. Lucy was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Greensboro. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Edwin Barry James and her two sisters, Laura Douglas Harrington and Isabelle Torrance Morrison.
Lucy is survived by her children Edwin Barry James, Jr. of High Point and Isabelle Patterson James of Palo Alto, CA.
