

Luke was born on January 23, 1932 in Guilford County, one of eleven children of Curtis Durant and Nellie Southern Jobe. For the past 60 years, he owned and operated Luke Jobe Construction. He loved to fish, attend church retreats, sing and always enjoyed eating out, and he loved spending time with his family and friends. His favorite place was his home at the coast. He also enjoyed travelling abroad. He was a board member for 20 years at God’s Bible School and College in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a member of Christ Weselyan Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. He will be deeply missed. He built some of Greensboro’s most beautiful homes.
Luke is survived by his loving wife of sixty three and a half years, Barbara Jones Jobe of the home; children, Steve Jobe and wife Phyllis of Greensboro, NC, Shaila Puckett and husband Dean of Greensboro, NC, Mike Jobe and wife Nichole of High Point, NC, Robin Jobe and wife Sherry of Randleman, NC and Luke Jobe and wife Sherri of Greensboro, NC, Barbara Miller and husband Jonathan of Greensboro, NC; seventeen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren and five sisters; Mary Wallace of Rose Hill, NC, Brenda Loftis of Greensboro, NC Ashlyn Roberts of Greensboro, NC, Hazel Wisdom of Greensboro, NC and Nancy Mahood of Boyers,PA.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, 2:00 p.m. at Christ Weselyan Church with burial to follow at Westminster Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
