Madison Aurora Floyd, cherished daughter of Robin Floyd of Greensboro, NC and Robert and Kim Floyd of McAddenville, NC, passed away in her Roanoke Rapids home on April 26, 2024 at the age of 35. A celebration of her life will be at 2 PM, Friday, May 3 at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Chapel in Greensboro followed by a visitation and reception.
Madison, who always marched to the beat of her own drum, finally decided to join us on July 5, 1988; almost two weeks later than expected. She was a curly-haired mischievous little girl who laughed so much she was nicknamed “Giggle Biscuit”.
After graduating from Hopewell High School in Charlotte, NC, she enrolled at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, SC where she received her psychology degree in 2010. Madison continued her education at Lenoir Rhyne University and received her master’s degree in Human Services in 2016. She went on to receive her LCAS (Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist) certification.
Madison was very passionate about fighting the stigmas associated with mental health and helping those battling substance abuse. At the time of her passing, Madison was the Program Director at the Morse Clinic of Roanoke Rapids.
Sometimes a stubborn force to be reckoned with, she had an enormous heart and loved her friends and family with everything she was. Those fortunate enough to be included in Madison’s “pack” knew how fiercely she loved them. Madison loved the beach, Dragon Ball Z, football (especially the Patriots) and in recent years became a “crazy” Carolina Hurricanes fan. Her biggest passion was her fur baby, Pirate. She trained him to be a therapy dog and was so proud of her boy when Pirate received his certification.
Madison leaves behind her best buddy, Pirate; her parents, Robin Floyd, Robert and Kim Floyd; grandparents, Bob and Shirley Floyd; aunts and uncles; Tracy and Steve Ball and Tamara and Tim Nifong; and cousins, Nikki Gibson, Jason Nifong and Chase Nifong.
“I’m There Inside Your Heart” ~ Unknown
Right now I’m in a different place and though we seem apart, I’m closer than I ever was. I’m there inside your heart.
We carry you with us always Freddie Girl. “Keep stirring those pots.”
