

Margaret was born in Spruce Pine, NC, the daughter of John Wesley and Essie Hilliard Young. She graduated from Western Carolina University where she received her degree in Education. She taught school until her retirement. She and her husband Moody were members of Jamestown Presbyterian Church where she sang with the choir. She also preformed with the group, Sugar Sticks. She enjoyed square dancing and camping, as she and Moody were members of the Tar Heel Travelers Camping Club.
Margaret was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She will be deeply missed by all.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 62 years, Edward Moody Watts; son, Edward Joseph Watts and wife Ann Carter Watts of Lexington, NC; grandchildren, Kimberly Ann Watts and Edward Joseph “E.J.” Watts Jr. She is also survived by one niece and seven nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter: Margaret (Jan) Watts, her sister, Mary Bennett; brothers: Joe Young, Bob Young, and Jack Young.
Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, April 24 at 1:00 p.m. at Jamestown Presbyterian Church. Services to celebrate Margaret’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Newton Cowal officiating.
Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel is assisting the Watts family.
