

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at First Lutheran Church followed by a reception in the fellowship hall for all friends and family.
Mrs. Bunge was born in Chicago, IL. She married Fred P. Bunge in 1949. She attended St. Olaf College in Minnesota and UNC -Greensboro. She and her young family moved to Gastonia, NC in 1958 and then to Greensboro NC in 1970. She was a household manager until she started a career as a Broker/Realtor in 1973. Mrs. Bunge received many awards as a Realtor including Realtor of the Year, Multi-million Dollar Producer, Winner’s Circle, President’s Club, and the Fellows Award. She served as Director and Secretary of the Greensboro Realtors Association and on many of the Realtors Association Committees. She was known for her professional ethics, kindness, thoroughness and determination. She thoroughly enjoyed working in real estate, even while out of town on vacation.
Mrs. Bunge was an active member of First Lutheran Church and served on the Church Council, the Endowment Committee, and the Property Committee. Marion volunteered as a Sunday service greeter, gave communion to home-bound members, participated in the funeral choir, and was part of Face Out Ministry. She also volunteered at the Moses Cone Hospital gift shop. She was very independent, yet generous, loving and caring. She loved all the family gatherings and her wit, humor, love, and generosity will be greatly missed.
Mrs. Bunge was preceded in death by her husband, Fred P. Bunge, and her brother, Arnold Lund.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Carol Overby (Brad) of Durham, NC, JoAnn Lyon (Steve) of Charlotte, NC, Ann Kaplan (Ike) of Ft. Myers, FL, and her son John Bunge (Evie) of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Jesse Overby (Missy), Kevin Overby, Hannah Bunge, Rick Bunge, Melisa Kaplan, Emre Kaplan; one great-grandson, many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank all the caregivers and physicians at Moses Cone Hospital, Wesley Long Hospital, Whitestone Care Center and her private physicians for all the special care and love given to Marion.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home, 515 N. Elm St., Greensboro, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Endowment Fund of First Lutheran Church, 3600 W. Friendly Ave., Greensboro, NC 27410.
