

Services for Marjorie Burns Pinckney, 86, will be held Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 11:00 am at Trinity Cathedral in Columbia, SC with burial in the churchyard. The family will receive friends after the service at the church.
Mrs. Pinckney died May 11, 2016. Born October 19, 1929 in Orangeburg, SC, Marjorie was the daughter of the late Oita Sadler Burns and Louise Green Burns. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Cotesworth Pinckney and her sister Anne Burns Walker. Marjorie was a member of St. Mary’s Church, High Point, NC, the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America, The Assembly, and former member of Trinity Cathedral in Columbia, SC and Christ Church in Greenville, SC. Marjorie will long be remembered for her Southern accent and charm.
Surviving are daughters Anne Lockhart Pinckney of Greenville, SC, Louise Pinckney Courts and her husband Andrew Courts, Jr. of Greensboro, NC, grandchildren Tucker Dulin and Amanda Waal, Sarah Dulin, Thad and Dixie Dulin, Cotesworth Courts, and great-granddaughters Elizabeth Glenn and Dottie Dulin, brother-in-law Francis Pinckney and his wife Diana, many nephews, nieces and their families.
