Marsha Ruth McCanless

She was born in Arlington Heights, Illinois on November 30, 1946, the daughter of the late Michael Stephen Hoggay and Lorraine Alice Hoggay (née Stoeckel). She attended Northern Illinois University as an English Literature major and had an extensive career as a mortgage underwriter. Some of her most cherished times were spent antiquing with her late identical twin sister, Michele Krainik, and watching Chicago Cubs games with her late husband, William “Craig” McCanless. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Monica Andrews and brother, Mark Hoggay.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughter, Shannon Norment and husband Master Sgt. Ret. Charles of Jamestown, North Carolina; son, Ian McCanless and spouse Jeff Byers of Murray Utah; three grandsons, Kraig Norment of Las Vegas, Nevada; Colin Norment and wife Brianne Norment (née Bunone) of High Point, North Carolina, and Duncan Norment of Jamestown, North Carolina; one sister, Mary Hughes of Lexington, Kentucky, and one brother, Michael Hoggay and wife, Janet Hoggay of Algonquin, Illinois.
