Martha J. Jones, 92, passed away on Sunday, May 23, 2021 after an extended illness at her home. Martha was born on May 3, 1929 in New Hanover County, NC. Martha spent her entire working career in banking and retired as a Vice President of Gate City Saving and Loan after 44 years of service.
She was a loving mother, sister grandmother and friend to many. She loved to grow flowers and gardening. Any dog could always steal her heart.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Jones; daughter, Janie Turner and grandson, Joshua Nelson. Those left to cherish her memory are her children; Paula Slate, Ron Turner and wife Detria; grandchildren, Samantha Ball and husband Taylor and Lacey Turner, Krystal Nelson and children; great grandchildren Haskell and Isla Ball.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 28th., 12:00 noon at Westminster Gardens Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be made to AuthoraCare Hospice, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405.
