Martha “Nanny” Rayle Sandridge, 66, a resident of Albemarle and former resident of Greensboro died Saturday March 8, 2014 at the Carolina Medical Center in Concord. Martha was born January 14, 1948 in Greensboro the daughter of Shelton and Violet Rayle. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Mt. Gilead in Montgomery County.
She is survived by her daughter, Wendy Wood and fiance’ Jimmy Hunt of Pleasant Garden; her son, Jerry Ray of Albemarle; one brother, Clifford Rayle and wife Linda of Pleasant Garden; six grandchildren, Joshua Brown, Timothy Brown, Ashley Parker, Tabitha Brown, Leslie Harden, A.J. Starnes and three great grandchildren, McKenzie Brown, Kirstyn Hunt and Brooke-Lynn Payne.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 High Point Rd., Greensboro, NC 27407 conducted by the Reverend Mary Hatley.
A Memorial Service for Martha will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Bethel Baptist Church, 590 Hydro Rd., Mt. Gilead, NC 27306 officiated by Reverend Mary Hatley. In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to be sent to Martha’s Sunday School Class; Golden Rule Sunday School Class, 206 Cedar St., Mt. Gilead, NC 27306
