Mary Ann McFadden Graham

Mary Ann McFadden Graham, 95, of Greensboro, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025. Born on May 4, 1929 in Kanona, KS, she was the daughter of the late Samuel B. McFadden and Jessie Richardson McFadden. She was the loving wife of the late Harold Lee Graham who passed in 2006.

Mary Ann and Harold built both of their homes, one being an underground structure. The family enjoyed traveling the US in their pop-up camper. Mary Ann was an excellent seamstress who could sew anything. She made her daughters’ wedding gowns, her husband’s suit, as well as the dresses for the entire bridal party. She also knitted, croqueted and tatted. Mary Ann enjoyed playing bridge and pinochle and was a former member of the Red Hat Club. She could be seen watching ACC basketball, watching both UNC and Duke. She loved the Atlanta Braves.

Mary Ann was a former and current member of Rankin Baptist Church in Greensboro. She raised her girls in that church. She was a member of the Rankin Crafters.

Mary Ann was a wonderful mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Graham and two sisters, Elsie Mae Boone and Iris Faye Roland.

She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Ann Frazier and husband Jim and Mary Lee Johnson and husband Boyd; four grandchildren, Cindy Dilday and husband David, Amy Moriarty and husband Mike, Benjamin Lee Johnson, and Nathaniel Graham Johnson; four great grandchildren, Emily Dilday, Chris Dilday, Leona Moriarty, and Bannon Moriarty; sister, Frances Pauline Lester; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends for visitation at Rankin Baptist Church on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 pm at Lakeview Memorial Park.
