Mary "Ann" Brady

She graduated from Reidsville High School in 1945 and went to work for the American Tobacco Co.

In 1950 she moved to Greensboro and worked for Sears Roebuck, P. Lorillard Tobacco Co. and for Guilford County in the school cafeterias.

Because Anadel was hard to pronounce and spell, she shortened it to “Ann” after coming to Greensboro.

She was married to Gilmer L. Brady who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her half-sisters, Helen McLaughlin,Lillian Vaughn, Margaret White and Nettie Jones.

She is survived by her two sons, Randall Brady and wife Cheryl of Eden and Terry Brady of the home.

Gilmer and Ann moved to the Groometown Community in 1958 and raised their children. Ann was a member of Vickrey United Methodist Church and Circle #1. She was a former member of the church choir and taught Sunday School and Bible School. She served as Treasurer of the church for 25 years.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday May 24, 2025 at Vickrey United Methodist Church 5348 Vickrey Chapel Rd. Greensboro, NC 27407, officiated by the Reverend Jeff Porter and the Reverend Chuck Ireson. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 p.m. until service time.
