A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 28, at Guilford Memorial Park, 6000 West Gate City Boulevard.
At age 18, Kathleen moved to Greensboro and married John Carson. When she was 20, she went to work at Industries of the blind, where she worked for 45 years.
Kathleen had three children, Steven Carson, Debbie Weadon and husband Steve, and with her second husband Ray Kye, they had their son David, now deceased. Also surviving is her granddaughter Danielle Woods and husband, James. When Kathleen was raising a family, she enjoyed cooking and baking with Debbie by her side. She loved cats, dogs and country music. She was known to be a little adventurous; in her 70’s, Kathleen took a ride around the block on a motorcycle with her nephew, Randy and she loved it. It was the most fun she ever had. She also enjoyed watching Young and the Restless, filling out Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes and NASCAR racing.
Kathleen helped people recover from being in the hospital or when they were sick, even the ones that were not always so kind to her. By helping others, she showed her family that you must do what is right no matter what. She was strong coming back from sickness and falls and soft spoken but stern. She was loved by all and will truly be missed.
