

Beloved wife and mother, devout in her faith, is reunited with the love of her life and husband of 35 years. Mary Ann Kubala Martin, age 76, with her family at her side, peacefully passed away on March 10, 2016 at Moses Cone Hospital.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 PM, on Monday, March 14 at the Hanes-Lineberry chapel located at 515 N. Elm Street. In celebration of her life, The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 PM, on Tuesday, March 15 at St. Benedict Catholic Church located at 109 W. Smith Street with Reverend James Duong, as celebrant, and Reverend Eric Kowalski, of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, as co-celebrant. The Rite of Committal will occur after the Mass at Guilford Memorial Park located at 6000 W. Gate City Blvd. with a reception following at the Knights of Columbus Hall located at 2780 Horse Pen Creek Road.
She was born the eldest of two children, on July 10, 1939 in Youngstown, PA. to Andre and Mary Kubala. Marrying her true love, M.Sgt. James D. Martin, USAF retired, in May of 1965. Placing their trust in the Lord and with his angels to guide, protect, and comfort them in life’s journey, they firmly believed that they could overcome anything together. As an expression of their love and fidelity, she gave birth to three sons and a daughter. She was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and frequently attended St. Benedict Catholic Church. She was a very loyal friend and a giving person who preferred to remain quietly behind the scenes exemplifying that love is not boastful. She retired from the Internal Revenue Service with over 30 years of service. She was so proud and very indulgent of her grandchildren and loved to play games, color and complete puzzles with them. One of her last wishes was fulfilled when she held her newest grandchild, Noah James Martin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James D. Martin, and daughter Felicia Renee Martin. She is survived by her three sons and their spouses all of Greensboro, James and Rachel Martin, Jeffrey and Cathy Martin and Jason and Julie Martin; grandchildren, Daniel Martin, Joshua Martin, Sydney Marie Martin, and Noah James Martin all of Greensboro; and brother, Andrew and his wife Maxine Kubala of Uniontown, PA.
