
A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church Chapel on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 2:00 p.m.
She was born January 23, 1930 to John Haye and Mary Azelle Presswood in Texarkana, AR. Ann graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music education from Ouachita Baptist University. She later went on to do graduate work in voice at Applachian State University. She had a long career as an organist and music teacher in Greensboro. She served as interim organist at numerous churches in Greensboro and taught private piano and organ lessons in her home for many years. She served as past president of both the Greensboro Music Teachers Association and the Euterpe Club of Greensboro, receiving an honorary membership into the Euterpe Club in 2007. In addition to being a talented musician, Ann was also an excellent seamstress.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Thomas Lee Tedford; her brother Kenneth Presswood; her sister, Betty Jane Presswood and her parents.
She is survived by her son, David Tedford of Asheville, NC; daughter Tina James and her husband Robert of Plano, TX; granddaughter, Clary Tedford of Asheville, NC; grandson, Strother Tedford of Asheville, NC; great-grandson, Berend Judson of Asheville, NC; and brother, James Presswood and his wife Jeanine of Brenham, TX.
Visitation will begin in the church parlor at 1:00 p.m.
