Mary Terezakis Woods

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 21, 2016, at the Dormition of Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church, 800 Westridge Road. Interment will follow in Westminster Gardens, 3601 Whitehurst Road. Officiating the services is Father Thomas Newlin.

Mary was born May 5, 1928, in Waterbury, CT to the late George Emanuel and Vasilia Terezakis. She grew up in Waterbury, CT and was part owner, secretary and treasurer of Lake Quassapaug Park. An accomplished painter, she had a passion for art, music and enjoyed speaking her native language. Some of her other interests include playing bridge, golf and she enjoyed most being with her family.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas F. Woods and her daughter, Karen Leigh Tsonas. She is survived by her children, Patricia Woods of Durham, Marcia Bond and husband, Chris of Rincon, GA, Susan Pietro and husband, Jay of Charleston, RI, Thomas O. Woods and wife, Lisa of Greensboro; brother, Emanuel Terezakis and wife, Anneken of Providence, RI; grandchildren, Christina Doro, Christopher Bond, Caroline Johnson, Leslie Tracy, Teri Pietro, Jay T. Pietro, Jacob Woods and great granddaughter, Fiona Doro.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. with the Trisagion service at 7:00, Friday, May 20, at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel, 515 North Elm Street.
