

Mrs. Mearles H. Parish, 90, a resident of Greensboro died Friday September 30, 2011 at Moses H. Cone Hospital. Mrs. Parish was born May 27, 1921 in Ridgeway, VA. She was a professional hairdresser and owned and operated Mearles’s Beauty Shop. She was a member of the Boomer and Beyond Senior Group and was a charter member of Gate City Baptist Church.
Mrs. Parish was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen M. Leonard.
Surviving are three daughters, Peggy Cecil and husband J.W. of Greensboro, Bennie Robbins of St. Augustine, FL, Barbara Buckner of Greensboro; two sons, Larry Martin of Greensboro, Mike Holt and his wife Jo of Walkertown; seven grandchildren, Don Shropshire, Lynn Hollingsworth, Grant Buckner, Annette Leonard, Kim Sergent, Jodie Holt, Christian Holt; 10 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren and a special friend, Paul B. Holliday.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by Reverend Mike Owens and Reverend Chan Shaver. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
