I will miss my friend and neighbor just knowing she was across the road and I could visit and talk with her was a blessing. she was always such a happy person and always upbeat. I knew she missed her Chester and I know she is happy now to be with him and to see Jesus, oh what a day that must have been. To her family I will be praying for God to give you all the strength in the coming days and months,

Vonnie father Bob, was my mother's youngest brother.
Vonnie was the flower girl in my wedding when she was 4. So sorry for her death but I know she will find Chester and her
parents. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. Joyce

I grew up with Vonnie, we were neighbors and she would play with her pony in her backyard as I was playing with my dog. We later dated briefly before she met Chester. I remember going to Winston to pick her up to go to Greensboro to see Sly and the family Stone. Also remember her being a bus driver for Northeast High School. She will be missed. She was special.

I spent alot of time with my first cousin Vonnie, when she was a teen. Her dad died at 47 and she so loved him and Marie. She wanted to talk about my new profession which is nursing. I have always been so proud of her even if we didn't see each other often. Fly high beautiful lady as Chester was waiting for you. Kim, I am praying for you and your families and your brothers and their families. love cuz Maggie

Vonnie is my 1st cousin. Her father is Bob Crutchfield, my dad’s youngest brother. I know there are many fathers who love their daughters, but I have never known one who loved them more than Vonnie’s dad loved her and Jeannie. My condolences to Vonnie’s children and grandchildren. All of you made her proud.

I am sorry to read about Vonnie’s passing. My condolences to the family and my prayers for your comfort in the Lord. I haven’t seen her since NEHS71 but I’ve got this memory of her smiling and laughing when I’ve thought of high school.

We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Vonnie. She was definitely one of the sweetest, kindness, and most caring woman you could ever know. She will be missed here on earth. Can you only imagine what her homecoming reunion loojed like when she saw the face of Jesus. I know she was shouting and running the streets of gold to find her Chester. Oh Happy Day! We are praying for the entire family that God will wrap his arms around you all and hold you tight giving you peace and comfort now and for the days ahead. Be blessed!

Vonnie will be truly missed. One fond memory is how much she loved children. She was a wonderful Sunday school teacher to my granddaughters. One day when we were in her area on the way to Walmart my 6 year old granddaughter said can we go to see the lady with the blue hair? We all loved her spunk and her creative side. We will cherish all the cute things she made for us as well as the many memories just having fun.
