

Myrtle Keaton Thomas, 92, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2016 at Blumenthal Rehab and Nursing Center. She was born on April 24, 1924 in Forsyth County, the daughter of Marvin T. and Josephine Wall Keaton. She was a lifelong member of Glenwood Friends Meeting. Myrtle worked for over 30 years as a seamstress. She loved to quilt, work in her garden and flowers. She always enjoyed cooking and looked forward to spending time with her family. Her family was always in her prayers. Myrtle was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to many. She will be deeply missed.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Thomas in 2005. Surviving are her daughters; Donna Fields and fiancé Joe of Brown Summit, NC; Verna Booth and Tim, Sharon Mendes, all of Greensboro, NC; Faye Harrell and husband Jimmy of Stoneville, NC, Betty Shoffner and husband Jimmy of Wilmington, NC; eleven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren; brothers, Ted Keaton (Linda) of Greensboro, Walter Keaton (Vickie) of Gibsonville; sisters, Thelma Thompson (Lamar) of Avon Park, FL, Mary Starling (Leroy) of Avon Park, FL, Betty Milligan of Eden, NC and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. at Glenwood Friends Meeting with burial to follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the meeting on Wednesday.
