Nancie Varner Williams

Nancie Varner Williams, 86, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 5, 2021. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 9, 2021 at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery. Nancie was born on July 16, 1934 in Guilford County to the late William and Mary Belle Varner. Before her illness, Nancie was an active member of Oakdale United Methodist Church in Jamestown. Church activities were her main hobby, serving in various capacities such as church secretary, choir director, member of the women’s guild, and served The Lord in many other ways. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Brantley Williams; and two sisters, Reba Briles and Pegge Varner. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 67 years, Charles S. Williams; daughter, Janice Williams; nephew, Billy Briles; special cousins, Sherron Reynolds and husband Dean, Debbie Middleton, Marshall Honeycutt, and Barbara Overton and husband Frank; granddaughter, Taylor Phagan and husband Scottie and Mary Metz; and three great-grandchildren, Henry Metz, Reecie Phagan, and Harper Phagan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Ave., High Point, NC 27262. Online condolences may be made at

May God comfort Charles, Janice, and the entire family! It was such a joy to know Nancie in a music capacity! She was so beautiful and sang like an angel. I was always happy after spending time with sweet Nancie!
Charles, you took such good care of your wife, and Janice, getting to know you better has been such a blessing! We will miss Nancie, but so grateful she is with Jesus! 🙏🏼
