

Nancy B. Brown died peacefully at home with her loving son Chuck by her side. She was born on January 8, 1934, the daughter of Homer C. and Nettie Carroll Brown. She moved to Atlanta, GA for several years and returned to Greensboro where she resided until her death.
Nancy was a self-made female business pioneer. She started working at Guilford Technical Institute and then moved into the staffing industry in 1967 where she spent the remainder of her business career. The Personnel Center of Greensboro was the first company she started and later sold to Norrell. She continued her career with Norrell developing the franchise division in management and later as a Franchisee. In 2006 to present, she was affiliated with ComSpec Management Group, an M&A firm. Nancy was a true role model for all who were fortunate to know her. Nancy was a Deacon in her church, Guilford Baptist Church and active in the Stephen Ministry program, served on the parish committee and many other committees within the church.
Nancy loved to spend time outdoors gardening and working with her plants. She adored her grandchildren and looked forward to time she could spend with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She will be deeply missed.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, C.B. Brown; daughter, Judy Brown Hammell, granddaughter, Macy Hammell;son, Doug Brown and brother, Buck Brown. Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Chuck Brown and wife Sharee of Greensboro, NC; Mike Brown of Fort Walton Beach, FL; devoted sisters and brothers; Joyce B. Tickle and husband Don of Southern Pines, NC, Betty B. Smith and husband Lee of Jamestown, NC, Richard Brown and Bill Brown, both of High Point, NC; grandchildren; Sgt. Jacob Brown, Emily Brown, Lauren Hammell, Cory Brown, Christy Houk and seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Nancy’s life will be held on Monday, 11:00 a.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel with a reception to follow. Burial will be private.
The family would like to extend their thanks and deep appreciation to Cindy Ford, Tammy Mann-Huston and Debbie Green for the loving care and concern given by them to Nancy.
