

Greensboro: Mrs. Nancy Hill Neese, 85, passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Blumenthal Jewish Nursing and Rehab Center.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at West Market Street United Methodist Church with the Reverend Bill Ellison officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Gathering Space at the church.
Mrs. Neese was born in Reidsville, NC to the late William Harvey Hill, Sr. and Mercia Lee Bruce Hill. She was the wife of the late Robert Ford Neese whose family founded Neese’s Country Sausage. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Harrell B. Hill.
Mrs. Neese was a member of West Market Street United Methodist Church, the First Couples Sunday School Class, a church circle, and was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Women. She graduated from Reidsville High School and in 1947 graduated from Woman’s College, now the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She was a member of the Sharron Garden Club, an investment club, and being an avid reader, was a member of the Twenty Readers Book Club. Mrs. Neese loved her family and enjoyed playing the piano, sewing, quilting and singing silly songs to her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by three children: daughters, Patsy Neese Smith and husband Elton of Greensboro, Jane Neese Rousey and husband Tom of Liberty and son, Eddie Neese of Liberty, ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one brother, W. H. Hill, Jr. of Reidsville.
The family would like to thank Dr. Stephen South and the nursing staff at Blumenthal Jewish Nursing and Rehab Center for the care and support they extended to Mrs. Neese and to Mrs. Phyllis Carter, a faithful friend.
