Mrs. Neola L. Lee, 59, a resident of Greensboro went to be with the Lord at Beacon Place on September 3, 2010, after one of the most courageous battles with cancer that the family and friends have ever witnessed. The cancer took her body, but our Lord Jesus Christ took her spirit and soul to heaven.
Neola was born August 26, 1951 in Sumner Washington, a daughter of Oscar and Minnie Lou Hutchison Allen. She was part Western Cherokee Indian and was very proud of her heritage. Neola was given the name “Listens in the Wind” to represent her heritage. She was an avid reader, liked to fish with her mother, play the guitar and travel. Her favorite trip was going to Alaska. She enjoyed cooking for her family and traveling every year to Pennsylvania to help with the Pow Wow, where she made many everlasting friends. She liked playing bingo, sewing and making Indian beads. We will remember her most for her sweet smile and great sense of humor. Neola was admired and loved by anyone who knew her. She loved her church, Palm Street Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her father Oscar Allen and a sister, Pat Bethel.
