A graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm Thursday, June 30, 2011, at Westminster Gardens Cemetery.
Born in Guilford County to the late Robert and Louise Brown, Mr. Brown was of the Wesleyan faith. He served in the United States Navy and retired from Rexham Paper Company after 39 years of employment. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, who loved nothing more than spending time with his family. His children and grandchildren looked to him as a wonderful Mentor. He was an avid NASCAR fan, loved gardening, had a passion for working on anything with a motor, and spending time with his buddies at Wilson’s Grocery. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Gray and Kathleen Parrish.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 56 years, Betty D. Brown, of the home; daughter, Susan Willard and husband Bobby; son, Jonathan O. Brown and wife Mindy; grandchildren, Brittany Willard, Nicholas Willard; and Crissy Brown, all of Summerfield; sister, Peggy Pearman of Kernersville; and his loyal and faithful companion, Scooter.
The family will receive friends Thursday morning at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Chapel from 10:00 until 11:30 am. For all those who wish to attend the graveside service, all will meet at the cemetery at 12:00 pm.
