Patricia Dawn (Smith) Craig
January 9, 1945 – June 11, 2024
Mom was married to the love of her life for over 32 years. She enjoyed traveling. Some of her favorite places to visit were historical sites such as Arlington Cemetery, Williamsburg, and Washington DC and some of her favorite trips were to the Pennsylvania Amish Country, Branson, MO, Talking Rock, GA and of course, visits to her sisters. She loved her Sunday evening drives with her husband through the Virginia countryside.
She loved cooking big meals for family gatherings and even enjoyed cleaning up the mess afterwards. The most important thing to her was spending time with her family (husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins).
She enjoyed spending time outside looking at her flower gardens and sitting on her back porch watching the butterflies and hummingbirds. She loved reading Amish romances and watching the Yankees. She loved to laugh at corny jokes even though sometimes it took her a day or two to get the joke.
Before her retirement, she worked 20 years at Moss Bow Foley making ribbons for many dog shows across the world, including the Best of Show for Westminster Kennel Club. She was beloved by all her co-workers, many of whom referred to her as their adopted mother.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother Marion and Pansy Oldham; sister, Sylvia Greeson; niece, Faith Miears; nephew, Chris Breland; son, James "Jim" W. Craig, Jr and grandson, Corey Brewer.
She is survived by her loving husband, James W. Craig of Reidsville, NC; sister, Joyce Breland of West Jefferson, NC; aunt, Arcola Eaton of McLeansville, NC; son, Garry Nordan of Franklinville, NC; son, Gregory Nordan of Reidsville, NC; daughter, Joyce Holley (David) of Salado, TX; daughter, Teresa Nordan, of Franklinville, NC; son, Wayne Craig (Sherry) of Kodak, TN; grandchildren, Forrest Aldridge, Jason Peltier, Joshua Nordan (Heather), Jacob Nordan, Ashlee Lancaster (Travis), Jessica Minogue (Luke), Victoria Bratcher (Johnathan), Logan Craig (Isabel), Trent Brewer (Stephanie), Nathan Craig (Alexa) and Jacob Craig as well as numerous great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed by so many especially her beloved husband. Her life will be celebrated, Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Gate City Church of God, 200 State Street, Greensboro, NC 27408.
