Paul Edward Garris, Jr., 54, a resident of Greensboro passed away on Friday February 27, 2015. Paul was born April 22, 1960 in Wadesboro, NC the son of Paul Edward Garris, Sr. and Hilda Hasty Garris.
He was a graduate of Ben L. Smith High School and was the former manager of Coliseum Billiards.
Paul is survived by his parents; Paul E. Garris, Sr. and Hilda Garris of Kernersville; his sister, Renee’ G. Haxton and her husband Brandon of Seminole, FL; Paul’s nieces, Taylor and Alexis of Seminole, FL as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and Mitzi.
Paul loved music immensely, collecting nearly 5,000 cds. He was an avid environmentalist and voracious reader. He had an insatiable desire for knowledge. His love of nature, animals and hiking brought him close to God.
A Celebration of Life Service for Paul will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by the Reverend Robert Decker. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made in Paul’s memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
