

Mr. Paul Frank “PF” Turner, Jr., 78 died Monday August 22, 2011 at Wesley Long Hospital after a lengthy illness. He had been a long term resident of Carolina Commons Nursing Home. Paul was born October 13, 1932 in Harmony to Paul Frank Turner, Sr. and Mary Ethel Cheshier Turner. He was a lifelong resident of Guilford County and a retired electrician with Cone Mills. He was a US Army veteran serving in the paratroopers. “PF” was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Treva Overly Turner and his grandson, Josh Nelson.
Surviving are two daughters, Paula Turner Slate and husband Walter and Janie Turner Padgett both of Greensboro; one son, Ronnie Turner and wife Detria of Norwood; one sister, Betty Peele and husband “Skeebo” of Greensboro; three grandchildren, Samantha, Lacey and Krystal; one great grandson, King and two nephews, Vic Strader and wife Lynette of Eatonton, GA and Terry Strader and wife Connie of Greensboro.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by the Reverend Donna Smith. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
