A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery. 6000 West Gate City Blvd., Greensboro, NC 27407.
Born on February 23, 1933, in Rockingham County, to the late Harvey and Myrtle Cardwell, Peggy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. She loved shopping, crossword puzzles, adult coloring books, and especially lunches and beach trips with her Red Hat Sisters. Peggy retired from the Internal Revenue Service after 35 years of employment. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Junius “J.C.” Cullen Harris and a son, Steve Harris.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Donnie Harris (Pam); grandchildren, Hunt Harris (Christy) and Hanes Mintz (Wren); great-grandchildren, Wells Mintz, Annie Bailey Mintz, Tate Harris and Dell Harris.
