He was the youngest son of Jesse and Ella Jackson. His 3 brothers Mark, George and Steve, predeceased him. He is survived by his wife, Jillian Ward Jackson, his three sons, Philip Jr., Mark and wife Melissa , Jonathan and wife Harmony, his four grandchildren Lydia, Isabelle, Vivian, and Jonathan as well as his sister Linda McAllister.
He was born August 1st 1950 in Gaffney, SC and raised in Columbia, SC. He attended UNC in the 1970s and became a lifelong tarheel. A devoted husband, father and all around family man, he loved spending time with all of his sons, grandchildren nieces, and nephews.
