

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel on High Point Rd., in Greensboro.
Born June 18, 1916, in Hopewell County, Virginia, Ms. Gorman was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Birmingham, Michigan. Phyllis was just one of those people who was good at any endeavor she undertook. She was a devout Christian who loved the Lord and was proud to share her passion with those around her. Phyllis was a retired Beautician and worked at Leonard Pressley Beauty Salon for 55 years and was a member of the Birmingham Country Club. She took great interest in government affairs and was truly proud to be an American. Phyllis was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Horbush of 22 years; her second husband, Ray Gorman; and her brother, Elwood “Dubby” Harvey.
Those left to cherish her memory include her cousins, Dorcas B. Burchett, Patricia B. Buchanan, and Grady E. Burchett; niece, Barbara Osborne; and nephew, Jim Ward and his wife Diane.
The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the funeral home on Tuesday.
