Our beloved “Prissy” (Priscilla Long Freedle) lost her long and courageous battle with breast cancer on April 29, 2011. She was born in Burlington, NC on January 7, 1952. She was a 1970 graduate of North Davidson High School and she attended Ashmore Business College, graduating in 1972. She worked as a legal secretary for most of her career in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Throughout her life she held onto her special gentle spirit and her unique sense of humor. She had a special love in her heart for all animals and her dream was to be able to provide a safe, loving haven for abused and neglected animals. Her favorite song was “Carolina Girls” which she loved to sing to her beloved cat of 18 years, Sophie Jean. She was sweet, funny and fun-loving until the end of her life.
Priscilla was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Long, in November 1952, grandparents, Dave and Maude Long and Sidney and Claudia Parrish of Thomasville, NC. She is survived by her loving mother, Dorothy Parrish Long Duck of Welcome, NC; her son, Chad Freedle, brother, Everette Duck, Jr., sister and brother-in-law, Thomas & Cheryl Keene, nieces, Shannon and Samantha Doby and nephew Jamey Passmore.
Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Thomasville conducted by Pastor Jonathan Conrad.
