If you knew Randall for almost any length of time, you probably found yourself asking, or asking someone close to him, “Does he ever slow down?” On Thursday morning, October 22, 2026, after a short and intense battle with cancer, Randall finally slowed down and entered into his eternal rest.
Randall was vibrant, energetic, lively, adventurous, and full of personality. He was sarcastic, witty, playful, and genuinely funny, always ready with a joke or a clever comment. He was also warmhearted, generous, compassionate, loyal, dependable, and always willing to help. Randall had a big presence and an even bigger heart. He was confident, determined, hardworking, and passionate about the things and people he cared about. He could be chaotic, more than a little impatient, and wonderfully unpredictable, but those qualities were part of what made him so memorable and uniquely himself. He frequently said that making others smile was what made him happy—and he was very good at it. Whatever Randall did, he had to be the best at it, and his competitive spirit showed in everything he pursued.
Of all the roles Randall held throughout his life, the one he cherished most was being a father. For him, life was all about his children and his family. He is survived by his daughter, Candice, and her husband, Phillip; his son, Travis, and his wife, Jessica; and his much-adored grandchildren, Phillip, Wyatt, Noah, Cade, Emma, Avah, and Alex. He wore the names Grandaddy and BooBoo with pride!
He is also survived by his two brothers, Victor Spivey and Dan Brown, along with many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris; his grandmother, Mary Jane; his twin sister, Sandra; and his niece, Amber.
Randall would tell you that he owed all of life’s many blessings to two things: the Father in heaven and the program of Alcoholics Anonymous. His faith and recovery were foundational to his life and shaped his commitment to helping others. He was a man of service, always willing to reach out a hand to anyone in need.
These few words could never fully capture Randall Moore’s life or the grief felt by so many at his passing. That would take many volumes of stories, laughter, lessons, and expressions of gratitude.
His family invites you to join them in celebrating Randall’s life and memory at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., Greensboro, NC 27407 on October 25, 2026. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. A reception will follow the service, where friends and family can gather to share memories and offer condolences.
